This week is National Apprenticeship Week, a chance to showcase how apprentices are great for businesses, personal careers and creating opportunities for both employers and apprentices. Here at Simplyco we currently have two apprentices, Chloe Cameron and Emily Messenger.
Former Cockermouth High School pupil Chloe is our Apprentice Receptionist and helps to meet and greet clients, set up purchase orders and put together contracts for the recruitment agencies we work with. Former Netherhall High School pupil Emily, is our Apprentice Payroll Clerk and deals with contractor’s timesheets and expenses, manages invoices and sends out payslips to contractors and umbrella employees.
Apprenticeships are a way for people to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining a qualification and a real future. Chloe and Emily hope that working at Simplyco will give them the skills and experience they need for future career prospects and opportunities.
Steven Beggs, Simplyco Accounts Manager commented:
“We think apprentices are great for business. We could see the benefit straight away and having Chloe and Emily as part of the team is a real asset. We would not hesitate in taking on any further apprentices in the future”.
